Feeding Kittens
it can be confusing to know when the newborn kittens are ready for any specific type of kitten food, but there are some basic rules you can follow the process much easier. If the cat is available, they are already providing the best food available for them when they first baby. Growing up, but you will slowly transition to a healthy kitten wet food they can eat on their own. This occurs in discrete steps that are easy to follow.
Step 1
Newborn kittens will turn to their mother for all the food they need. As you can see to their needs, you have very little to worry about what food kittens. All you have to do is to check and make sure they are nursing. If they do not do that, if the mother is deceased or unavailable, you need to feed every hour or two with a special liquid kitten food provided by your veterinarian.
Step 2
At about four weeks, your kitten will be ready to take the next step. Mix thoroughly with a quality liquid formula kitten until the consistency of a thick milkshake. Place in a bowl and bring the kittens to it or by placing a little of that on your finger or a rubber nipple.
Step 3
When the kittens are six weeks, begin to decrease the amount of preparation in their food mixture. They need to eat on their own from the bowl at this point and their teeth have come to good. Over the past two weeks, you will no longer reduce the amount of milk until they eat cat world.
Step 4
You can transfer your kittens kitten dry food when they are about eight weeks, start by mixing it with wet and increasing the ratio of dry to moist. Dry food is not particularly healthy for cats, however. Cats are carnivores and dry food tends to contain large quantities of grain, which can lead to feline diabetes and other health problems.
